TEFLON® and Other Fluoropolymer Coatings
In the late 1970’s, American Durafilm was approached by a large, international device manufacturer to assist in identifying a coating that could be used to provide electrical insulation and withstand the rigors of repeated autoclaving. After in depth testing and validation was completed, on a large number of coatings supplied by American Durafilm, the device manufacturer identified one coating as outperforming all the others in their testing: Dykor® 200 series PVDF from Whitford Corp. Dykor® exhibits the traits necessary to get the job done in this demanding field:FDA compliance, superior dielectric strength, thermal stability, and superior resistance to mechanical damage.
